Gateway Motorway — Off Ramp Intersection

Project overview

A nearby development necessitated significant upgrades to the Gateway Motorway off ramps and intersections. The designers needed an accurate existing infrastructure model. Terrestrial laser scanning was selected to avoid traffic management expenses, protect public convenience, eliminate night work requirements, and reduce surveyor safety risks on roadways. The team scanned the busy intersections during standard business hours, removed traffic and moving objects from the data, and produced an accurate infrastructure model meeting design specifications.
